RemedyUK has been awarded a grant of £25,000 by the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust Ltd to develop its e-democracy agenda.
An unconditional award of £15,000 will enable Remedy to better research grassroots doctors’ attitudes to participation and the development of sophisticated and user-friendly online methods of engagement.

In response to a suggestion from Dr Gordon Caldwell, director of Medical Education at Worthing hospital, and aware and concerned about anecdotal evidence of bullying and undue pressure on juniors to fill rota gaps, RemedyUK will launch its own diary monitoring exercise in early August.

The Darzi report, 'A High Quality Workforce : NHS Next Stage Review' has been released. It is a detailed look at many issues that will affect the health service. A large amount of this report deals with the training of doctors. RemedyUK need to know what its members think of the report. We are holding an online e-democracy consultantation for all of our members. | |

The First Annual RemedyUK AGM was held last Saturday at the RemedyUK Headquarters.
Thanks to all those who attended.
The morning saw a summary of the organisation to date, with an update of our last 6 months. While things have been publicly a little quieter than our first 6 months, there has been a great deal of behind the scenes work. This places RemedyUK in a good position to move into our next phase of development (more news on that later in the week). |

Doctors pressure group RemedyUK today condemns the Government’s response to the independent inquiry into MMC, led by Sir John Tooke.
The independent inquiry team made 47 recommendations in a final report, entitled ‘Aspiring for Excellence’ published in January 2008. The report has received overwhelming and unanimous backing from doctor representative groups, Royal Colleges and the profession as a whole. |
