NHS Employers have attacked RemedyUK for developing the RemedyUK Jobs site. The site was launched in early January has been welcomed my many doctors. It provides the only centralised resource for finding specialty training jobs that may be advertised for as little as 72 hours on any of up to 22 different websites. |

Prof Sir John Tooke’s plans to establish a national body to oversee medical education in England were given a ringing endorsement by senior doctors this week.
PMETB chairman Prof Peter Rubin told members of the Commons Health Select Committee he felt ‘very strongly’ that England needed a national body similar to NHS Education Scotland.

International medical graduates (IMGs) have once again been blamed for last year’s specialty recruitment disaster.
Prof Sarah Thomas, postgraduate dean at the South Yorkshire and South Humber Postgraduate Deanery, has told the Commons Health Select Committee that deaneries signed up to MTAS ‘with the agreement that numbers of applicants would be controlled’.

Senior royal college figures have told a committee of MPs they were powerless to stop MMC against the might of the Department of Health (DH) decision-makers.
The Commons Health Select Committee took evidence from representatives from the royal colleges today (17 February, 2007) as part of their on-going inquiry into the twin failure of MMC and MTAS. |
