The date for the hearing has been set for the 11-12th May 2010 at the High Court. Remedy will be arguing that the architects of MTAS should be investigated by the GMC for misconduct and deficient professional performance. The hearing is open to the public.

The background to the case is set out elsewhere on the Remedy website and the legal arguments are also summarised.

This is a unique and unusual case, and its outcome is likely to set a signicant precedent. A major plank of the GMC's defence is that even if misconduct had been committed then it would not affect the fitness of the doctors to practice medicine. This seems slightly at variance with the traditional GMC view, where doctors have been found guilty of misconduct over other non-clinical matters. The detailed wording of the final judgement will be scrutinised very carefully for many years.

The hearing is open to the public, and our legal team are hoping to have the support of as many people as possible. If you would like to attend then you can get more details from This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
