Jim Johnson, Head of BMA Resigns PDF Print E-mail
The outcry following the letter written by Jim Johnston, Chairman of the BMA Council, and Carol Black, Chair of the Academy of Royal Colleges in the Times last week has led to BMA Council members today convening a meeting of the governing council of the organisation.

It has been confirmed by several sources that Council members called for the resignation of James Johnston, and that he formally resigned earlier today.

It is not yet clear who will become the interim Chair until an election is held.

We also understand that other senior members in the organisation have been called to BMA House.

We will update you as soon as the facts become available.
