The National Association of Clinical Tutors have sent guidance to 'help support FY2, FTSTA's and those in Trust posts'. The document suggests that 'random shortlisting' may be required as a result of high application volumes, 'i.e. eligible applications are numbered as they come in and every 8th/ 10th taken to be further shortlisted by the specialty panel'. The document also suggest that there are only 300 posts at ST3 level, and also suggests that FY2's who don't mke the grade for hospital medicine can 'resort to GP'. Liz Spencer, author of the document, has not been available for comment to date. The DoH have assured RemedyUK that they will not support random shortlisting. Read the full document here |
