Having spent seven years enjoying myself in leafy Hampstead, I qualified from the Royal Free & University College Medical School in 2004 and opted to do a Foundation Year 1 at a time when the scheme was just being piloted, which I found to be a generally positive experience. I then completed two years as an SHO in Obs & Gynae before being caught up in MMC. After initial complete and utter panic, I was fortunate enough to be offered a run-through training job in Obs & Gynae, London deanery, and am now just starting my ST3 year. With all the current upheaval in medical training and the arrival of the 2009 European Working Time Directive, this can be a very confusing time for trainees (myself included!) and to have the support of a group such as Remedy is really important. I have just recently resigned my BMA membership and hope that with enough support from doctors, RemedyUK will have lots to offer. As a rep, I hope to do what I can to sort out any problems that people may have (rotas, contracts, all the usual things) and act as a point of contact for Remedy.
